Gastrointestinal Associates launches ‘My GIA’ patient portal to provide convenient access

The new “My GIA” patient portal provides patients of Gastrointestinal Associates convenient, anytime online access to their GIA patient records and contact with their physician’s office. The secure online connection enables patients to request appointments and prescription refills, obtain test/lab results, send a message to a physician or staff member, request medical records and update their medical history, insurance information and other forms.

“Through GIA’s patient portal, patients can contact their GIA physician’s office at their convenience, without having to call the office during business hours,” GIA Managing Partner Dr. Bergein “Gene” Overholt said. “GIA’s physicians and staff strive to provide the very best patient experience, and the patient portal is part of that effort.”

The GIA patient portal is secure, ensures patient privacy and complies with all requirements of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Patients who provided an email address when filling out registration forms were automatically sent a Personal Identification Number that is then used to sign up for the portal. Patients who did not receive their PIN may request a new one by sending an email message, including the patient’s name and date of birth, to portal@gihealthcare.com.
