Dr. Jeffrey Gilbert, born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, attended the University of Tennessee, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He completed his medical doctorate degree at the UT College of Medicine in Memphis.

Following his medical education, Dr. Gilbert completed his internal medicine residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Kentucky, where he was chief gastroenterology fellow for the 2007-08 academic year. Dr. Gilbert’s advanced procedural skills include endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), spyglass cholangioscopy, capsule endoscopy and enteroscopy. His clinical interests include gallbladder and bile duct disorders, cirrhosis and liver disorders, and colon cancer prevention.

He serves as a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Gastroenterological Association. He is board certified in gastroenterology.

Dr. Gilbert and his wife, Amy, have three children, Anna Grace, Lucy and James. He is active in the community and serves as a reserve elder in the Presbyterian church.
