Joseph was born and raised in southeast Tennessee and received his Associates of Science from Cleveland State, a Bachelor’s of Science in Journalism and Public Relations from Tennessee Technological University, a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from East Tennessee State University, and a Master’s in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University. For many years, Joseph worked in home health care sales in Asheville, NC.  This is where he was exposed to patient care and found his calling to return to school and follow his passion and desire to provide care for people. After obtaining his nursing degree, he worked for nearly five years on an inpatient surgical floor at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital and one year as an endoscopy recovery nurse for Gastrointestinal Associates. After completing his Master’s degree, Joseph worked for in sleep medicine, and he is now happy to be working once again with Gastrointestinal Associates.

Joseph lives in Knoxville with his spouse and their two dogs.  In his free time he enjoys taking his dogs for walks, gardening, and being outdoors enjoying the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. He also enjoys traveling, live music, theater, theme parks, and spending quality time with his friends and family.
