Tejal Mistry, MD is double board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Mistry completed her residency and fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. During her seven years there, she trained at Memorial Hermann Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

She was chosen by faculty to serve as chief resident of her internal medicine residency, then selected as chief fellow of her gastroenterology fellowship. As chief resident, she completed an additional fellowship for certification in quality improvement. Mistry is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Mistry enjoys trying new restaurants, being in the mountains, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She lives in Knoxville with her husband, Tejas Patel, their son, Ronin Patel, and a goldendoodle named Nala.
