Dr. Dickson was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He later attended the University of Tennessee, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry cellular and molecular biology in 2011. He earned a Master’s Degree in Medical Sciences from the University of South Florida in 2013 and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2017.
Before joining Gastrointestinal Associates, he completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Virginia. During his training, he published many abstracts on gastrointestinal disorders and presented at multiple national meetings. He additionally participated on multiple medical mission trips.
He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
He and his wife, Ali, have young twin boys. In his free time, Dr. Dickson enjoys watching Tennessee sports, exercising, hiking and playing with his boys.
